New governors appointed to Lincoln College Group Board

Lincoln College is delighted to announce it has appointed five new Governors to its Board of Corporation.

Drawn from a diverse range of local businesses, the new governors  will join the existing Board, which is responsible for helping to drive the strategic direction of the College and hold its Executive Leadership Team to account.

The five new governors are: Amy Conyard, Managing Director of Distillery Operations, Next Frontier Brands Ltd; Lucy Goodier, Finance Manager at Branston Potatoes; Thomas McKenzie, Sales Manager at Siemens; Charlotte Watson, Head of PR, Marketing, Comms and Policy, Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce; Peter Price, Finance Manager at L J Fairburn & Son.

Speaking following her appointment, Lucy Goodier said the role will be an opportunity to gain further insight into the Education sector.

“I will draw on some of my experience and provide ideas to help the College as it continues to grow,” she said.

Peter Price said: “I hope to use my experience working within the private sector to contribute to the Board to develop and action the College's strategic goals.”

Amy Conyard said: “I hope my experiences will enable me to make a worthy contribution to the board and to the College as a whole.” 

Thomas McKenzie said he was excited about the appointment and was looking forward to getting involved.

And Charlotte Watson said: “Lincoln College is a forward-thinking College with a distinctive mission.  

“It is a huge honour to work alongside the other governors and the Executive Leadership Team, building on the College’s current strengths.”

Lincoln College Board of Corporation Chair James Pinchbeck, welcomed the new appointments.

He said: “We are very fortunate to have established an excellent reputation for governance, which has enabled us to attract and recruit some fantastic new Board members.

“This will ensure the continued success of the College and its journey to being extraordinary.

“The Further Education Sector has faced and tackled extremely challenging times for over a decade. Lincoln College has responded to this exceptionally well, ensuring its relevance in meeting the needs of local employers and students.   

“It has pioneered employer-led education and training in its development of colleges in Air and Defence, Policing, Construction and Care sectors, as well as creating a manufacturing centre of Excellence in Made in Gainsborough.

“Such work, has been made possible through additional income generated by its UK and international commercial arm, which has been led by the strategic vision of the Board.  

“In light of the unprecedented times we are experiencing, the Board will continue to play an instrumental role in the development of the College, providing strategic vision and rigour.” 

Lincoln College Group CEO Gary Headland said: “I am delighted to welcome our new governors to the Board. The experience and breadth of knowledge they bring will help us  achieve our mission of being employer-led, producing a highly skilled and productive local workforce.
