Access to Higher Education - Education Full-Time Level 3

  • Campus

    Lincoln Campus

  • Start Date

    September 2024

  • Duration

    1 Year (Full-time)

The Access to University programme (Access to HE Diploma) is an intensive course for those aged 19 plus, especially designed for people who are returning to education. The course is specifically geared towards a graduate career, and prepares students to improve their confidence and knowledge through a series of lectures, seminars, discussion groups, presentations, as well as essay writing.

Successful completion of this course is designed to allow you direct entry into Higher Education, with over 95% of our students who achieve their Diploma going onto a wide range of Teaching roles and other Degrees depending on their subject specialism at UK wide universities as well as our local providers, Lincoln University and Bishop Grosseteste University.

During this programme you will study 2 of the following National Curriculum subjects: English Literature, History, or Biology with Maths.

You will need Mathematics, English and a Science GCSE (minimum grade 4 or equivalent) prior to enrolling on the programme.

Some universities may accept Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications instead of GCSEs. If you possess a Level 2 equivalent and have written evidence that the university you intend to apply to accepts them as part of their entry requirements, you will be accepted onto the Access to University course.

You must possess at least one Level 2 qualification in English or Maths. If you do not possess both English and Maths Level 2 qualifications, an alternative condition of entry is that you must complete a diagnostic test to demonstrate you are capable of successfully studying and achieving the missing qualification alongside your Access to University studies.

You will also be required to complete some pre-enrolment tasks.

Assessment is a combination of written assessments and assignments.

You will require general stationery items and access to the internet; PC's are available on campus.
