Our courses in Animal Care are a great place to start your career. Whether you want to work in a livery yard, rescue centre, kennels or even a zoo, we can help you on the path to an exciting future.
There are lots of interesting jobs caring for animals, ranging from Animal Care Worker to Veterinary Nurse and Pet Shop Assistant to Dog Handler.
Depending on your area of study within Animal Care you will be based at one of three locations - Rand Farm Park, Caistor Equestrian Centre or White Post Farm.

Casey & Masie
Level 3 Animal Management students Casey and Maisie have been hard at work teaching Billy the horse as part of their 6-week coursework for Animal behaviour and communication.
In addition, students gain knowledge on overall animal health, feeding, nutrition, pet store layout, and management.
This course provides exceptional training for future careers in the Animal Management field or higher education - Casey plans to pursue Marine Biology, while Maisie aims to study Veterinary Medicine at University!
A day in the life
A day in the life of an animal care student
Working at the local Rand Farmpark, Animal Care students do plenty of teamwork with their husbandry duties in and out the barn – such as replenishing the hay and ensuring water is topped up.
Day by day, students learn the anatomy of animals and how to provide nurturing care. They also gain well-rounded experience through weekly rotations in different stations, allowing them to explore all aspects of animal care
Level 3 students can take on a supervisor role - delegating jobs to the Level 1 and 2 students, gaining them fantastic managerial skills!
Matthew
Matthew is on the Level 3 Animal Management course at Lincoln College, he is running us through the day to day tasks that he does here onsite at Rand Farm Park - where all our Animal Care students work throughout their studies.
With a keen interest in the welfare of animals, Matthew likes to conduct health checks to ensure they are receiving the right care - this hands-on experience has inspired him to pursue a career in Veterinary Nursing.
Just like Matthew, you can earn UCAS points with our Level 3 qualifications for University applications if that's the path you want to pursue.
