How is college different from sixth form?

At College you’ll be treated like a young professional and our facilities are designed to reflect the true working environments.

Although some of our courses mean you have to wear work-wear, a lot of the time you can dress how you like and many of our students feel this helps them express themselves.

You're likely to be on first name terms with your lecturers and as long as you treat them with respect, you'll be learning in an environment where you're treated like an adult.

Although some things are more informal than school, we expect 100% attendance and we expect you to be motivated and professional. If these things start slipping we will start working with you to improve your performance.

Many courses require you to attend college for around three days a week. You'll have lots of work to do outside of this time, but we trust you to manage your own study time. Many of our students choose to work part time too - and we encourage this, as this gets you ready for the world of work - as long as you can manage your studies too!

At our colleges you'll be doing a Study Programme that will include your main qualification, but also tutorials, Maths & English if needed, as well as work experience and industry placements.
