School of Musical Instrument Crafts Open Day 8 June 2024

Our open days give prospective students, along with their friends and family, a chance to look around and get a better idea of what life is like studying at Newark College.

Musical Instrument Crafts has been taught at Newark College since 1972. With a global reputation and excellent connections with industry, our students can pursue the craft they love whilst gaining high-quality practical skills from practicing professionals.

The Musical Instrument Crafts department features four separate pathways: Guitar, Piano, Violin, and Woodwind. At the open day, there'll be staff from across the four pathways available to chat to you and answer any queries.

We'll also have members of our Student Guidance team who'll be happy to answer questions and give careers advice. You'll also be able to check out our facilities and have a look around our campus.

TRAVEL FUND

If you are attending our Career Degrees Open Day (for adults aged 18+ in September of the course starting and looking to study a university-level degree course), we would like to help you with your travel costs. We want to make sure you are able to attend College to experience life on campus so if you are travelling more than 10 miles to campus we will contribute towards the cost to ensure your journey into Higher Education is achievable.

The travel fund amount you will be eligible for depends on the distance travelled to our campus in Newark and will be calculated by Newark College. The amount awarded will be based on the shortest route from your postcode to campus. Here's how much you can get:

10-50 miles - £35

51-85 miles - £50

86-120 miles - £65

121+ miles - £80

If you request the travel fund, we will email you after you have attended the open day to confirm your travel fund amount and bank details. The money will be paid to you by bank transfer.
