We are thrilled to announce the launch of our third phase of the Drive 2 Work scheme, following the success of our initial HGV training programme. We are excited to welcome 15 new learners who will have the opportunity to obtain their HGV license for free, thanks to our fully funded training incentive of £4,000.

Last year, Lincoln College and Inspire Education Group secured funding from the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, which has been instrumental in supporting our programme. Through our collaboration with the esteemed Road Haulage Association (RHA), we have successfully delivered the HGV programme and cultivated two cohorts of highly skilled and experienced candidates.

Recognising that the high cost of training and testing can be a significant barrier for many individuals, our initiative serves as a gateway for those aspiring to obtain their HGV licenses.

Sean Knight, Assistant Principal at Lincoln College Group, said: “The Drive 2 Work scheme has achieved remarkable success, with learners already earning their full HGV licenses since the project commenced in January 2023. We are thrilled to extend this opportunity once more to new candidates in March, presenting an exceptional chance for individuals seeking to embark on a new career path without any financial constraints.”

At Lincoln College, we are committed to creating an accessible and supportive learning environment for our students. We are delighted to receive positive feedback from learners who have benefitted from our programmes.

Charlie Porter-Robinson, HGV student at Lincoln College, said: “I can't tell you how much this has changed my life. All the training I have had has been so supportive, Paul and Carl especially. Carl pulled me through when I almost quit after a bad day of training in Peterborough. I have had nothing but kindness and support.

“I feel this training is outstanding - all the people I have met have helped me so much - I will not forget this! Simply being able to email Karen and get praise and encouragement has kept me going when the studying got tough."

Prospective learners interested in joining the Drive 2 Work scheme can fill out the application form to begin the process.
